麻省理工学院
麻省理工学院（massachusetts institute of technology，缩写mit）成立于1861年，位于美国马萨诸塞州波士顿附近的剑桥市，其吉祥物为海狸，代表动物界最擅长筑水坝的工程师。
麻省理工素以理工闻名于世，但近年来，麻省理工学院的生物、经济学、语言学、商科也已发展得非常强。其斯隆商学院被列入美国商学院的“magic 7”之中，生物则与哈佛办有联合教学及研究所。
老师介绍，麻省理工学院成立于1861年4月10日，为响应当时美国的工业化浪潮而设立，偏重科学、工程与技术，1930年代起后逐渐向综合性大学发展，并于1934年获选为美国大学协会的一员。
