It’s probably because you slept in one of the five positions experts believe leads to pain.

Fatigue, sleep apnea, headaches, heartburn, and muscle soreness are just some of the complications arising from a poor night’s sleep, says Dr. Steven Park, author of Sleep, Interrupted.

It is widely believed you should steer clear of the following positions:

It’s regarded as one of the worst sleeping positions. Not only can it cause neck and back pain, but those who sleep in the foetal position complain of difficulties breathing as it restricts airflow.
这种睡姿被认为是最糟糕的睡姿,它不仅会引起脖子和背部疼痛,它还会阻碍空气流通,导致呼吸困难。
2.Right side with arms stretched out

Pregnant women are advised to avoid this position as it can restrict blood flow to thefetus.It can also lead to heartburn, shoulder, arm and back pain.

3.Sleeping face-down

This is a weird position and no-one should sleep like this anyway.

Obviously, sleeping with your face directly on your pillow can lead to neck and back pain.

But more importantly – how are you supposed to breathe?

Avoid this unless you want shoulder pain.

5.Left side with arms stretched out

This adds pressure to your nerves and can put a strain on internal organs including your lungs.
