Visit the SSAT website to find a testing site in your area.The SSAT consists of verbal, quantitative (math), and reading comprehension sections. The verbal questions test your vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and ability to relate ideas logically. The quantitative (math) questions test your ability to solve problems involving arithmetic, elementary algebra and geometry and concepts. The reading comprehension section tests your ability to understand what you read. All tests are printed in English. In addition, the test includes a writing sample portion, which asks you to respond to a topic statement. The essay is not graded, but a copy accompanies your SSAT score report. TOEFL (required for international applicants to grades 9-12)The TOEFL test must have been administered within the past six months (We do not accept the SLEP or the TOEFL Junior Standard). Thomas Jefferson School's TOEFL institution code is 7422. TJ does not have a required minimum score for the TOEFL, but can report than the average score of admitted students is 100+.
